Door is made of a decorative cast concrete with a refractory layer. It is designed to hold in heat when baking, or to keep the elements out when the oven is not in use. It is colored to match either our slate gray or terra cotta outdoor ovens.

We love our Round Boy Pizza Oven and stand! It's become a weekend tradition at our campground! We've done about 50 pizza's in it, a beef roast, stuffed jalepeno's, chicken wings and a pork tenderloin. We prefer thin crust medium sized pizza's. We can juggle two at a time that way. Larger families can have their kids personalize their own pizza's and everyone's happy! We used smaller pieces of oak. Great flavor, didn't use a lot of wood. We're going to order the door for this summer to regulate heat better. Great Product! It also arrived on time, packaged well but we do suggest three people to assemble. The outside of the oven doesn't get hot, so as long as you're out front cooking, kids standing around watching were not a concern. Love it!

I've had my oven one week today. After firing it four times during the week. We were able to get it hot enough to cook our first pizza. After a couple hours. We had a great fire going. I think it will take us some getting use to of how much would or even how big of piece of wood to use. So far smaller hard wood is the way to go. Its real easy with the hot coals to add wood to heat up a little. Our first pizza was hot and very good. The kids love it. Not sure what temp was in there but it took us maybe 5 mins for our fist pizza and that wasn't with a great big fire just a small one with small embers. Today we will try bigger fire and larger pieces of would for bigger embers. Over all we love the oven it holds heat very well and it looks awesome on our new deck.
