Product Description

The Roundboy Oven is an outdoor wood-fired masonry oven.

The oven features a half-barrel refractory concrete oven dome with a refractory brick floor. The oven dome is between 1.5" to 3" thick in key areas. The oven dome is insulated by ceramic blanket insulation.

The oven also includes a decorative exterior assembly made of steel reinforced molded concrete. The exterior has a decorative stone texture in your choice of colors, along with a matching decorative brick-style chimney with a stainless steel smoke pipe.

    I had no experience with pizza oven previously, but after I called and spoke with Karl I felt very informed and comfortable about my purchase. I had several specific questions that Karl was able to answer immediately and delivery occurred on time without issue.

    Packaging: Fantastic
    The unit came on a single pallet with very secure packaging and protective foam between each layer.

    Assembly: Straight forward
    The instructions and process were easy to follow. Placing the top 3 pieces did required some muscle, but was very manageable. We purchased the steel frame base. It was top quality and incredibly solid.

    Use: Easy & Delicious
    We were able to make great tasking pizza and the first time. People from all over the neighborhood were intrigued and wanted a taste!

    I have had my Round Boy about 3 years and we have had some great parties with it. The last one was July the fourth. All of our friends love it.
    It was actually more work to get it all to the back yard than it was to assemble it. It went together in a couple hours.
    I do see a hairline crack on the one side nut it is most likely because I heated it up a little to fast after it set for some time. There is still no problem with it cooking though. I am currently putting a door with a vent and temp gauge on it. This is unnecessary but I thought I might try to bake bread in a more controlled environment. I am also covering the base and then putting tile on it to match my outdoor kitchen. Great product, reasonable price and easy to assemble. Should mine ever finally crack and fail I believe I would buy another.

    I did a lot of research before deciding on the Roundboy Oven. The biggest factors that led me to choosing the Roundboy, was the ease of installation and the short amount of time it takes to heat up.

    I installed it in one day with the help of my neighbor. This was great, because most of the other ovens I was looking at would take me weeks or even months to build.

    I mainly cook pizzas, and they seem to get better each time I cook. I learn a little more about my Roundboy every time I fire it up. Everyone is amazed at the pizza it produces, and the kids love helping make the pizzas. I've cooked on it for over a year now, and I don't have any complaints.

    So my passion for pizza led me on the mission to finally have a wood fired oven in my backyard. Some of the pre-built ovens were too small inside and WAY too expensive. Having someone build an oven was out of my price range too. Building myself would entail a whole summer of swearing at the bricks and mortar and not spending any time with my family. On top of all this, we have a small city yard and building in a permanent oven would be difficult and problematic if we ever needed to get a tree chipper, backhoe or any equipment in our yard. I also didn't want to sacrifice and buy a stainless steel or aluminum oven, or something else that was a sacrifice: I wanted a real brick and masonry oven that would heat up in a reasonable amount of time (like 1 hr or less). Some of the adobo ovens take 3 hours! I would never use it. So I stumbled on the Roundboy: fits all the needs and the budget, and the service from Karl was top notch! Very easy to assemble, short firing/seasoning time and we've been enjoying lots of pizzas! I thoroughly recommend it and enjoy it.

    I am a longtime food fanatic with years of cooking, grilling, and smoking food experience so it came as no surprise to the family when I decided we needed a wood fired oven. I looked all over, I saw some really nice ovens like Forno Bravo, Four Mere, Chicago Ovens, and MANY more. I knew I did not want a long project that could potentially get stalled for months or even years. I also knew I did not want to drop a small fortune and have something the size of a bomb shelter in my small back yard.

    After research and reading many forums and websites I came across Round Boy Ovens. I immediately liked the idea that I could have a pizza oven built and going in pretty much 1 day. I ran into several who had never seen a Round Boy Oven before, in fact on one of the more elitist websites they were quick to tell me that it could not possibly do the things their $10,000+ custom pizza ovens could do, and I was foolish to think differently.

    Maybe they were right, here is what I wanted to do. I wanted to be able to cook AMAZING 9” to 12” Neapolitan or even New York style pizzas consistently for anywhere between 1 and 50 people. I wanted to be able to use residual heat to bake my famous soft pretzels or to bake a few batches of artisan bread. I wanted the ability to cook a wood fired Lasagna in a clay tray, or even slow roast a piece of meat. As it turns out the Round Boy is more than capable of these tasks.

    The down side? So far there are none for me. I have no desire to bake a 20” monster pizza or bake 50 loaves of bread on only residual heat (I am not a bakery just a guy wanting great food from a wood fired oven). A possible down side depending on where you live, when you fire it up and start pulling pies, neighbors who you hardly know seem to show up out of nowhere. We have already learned to make more dough than we think we will use. Dough keeps well in the fridge FYI….

    Family thought I was crazy for buying an outdoor pizza oven. Shopped the net. Kits needed cement bases and cement topcoats and were more money than this WITH the base. Easy assembly. Plenty of room for 2 10" pies. Cooks in 2 minutes - or less. Have YouTube of the assembly.Harry and Karl very helpful. Family loves making these pizzas so it accomplished what I wanted. Fun - family gatherings - good food.
